Removing a TX Matrix Plus Front Fan Tray
The upper front fan tray is located below the craft interface,
and the lower front fan tray is located above the lower front air
filter. Each front fan tray weighs about 9.0 lb (4.0 kg).
 | Caution:
Do not remove both front fan trays at the same time.
Removing both front fan trays might cause the router to shut down. |
To remove a front fan tray (see Figure 1):
- Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap
to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to one of the ESD points
on the chassis.
- Loosen the captive screws on the corners of the fan tray
faceplate, using a Phillips (+) screwdriver, number 2.
- Grasp the handle and pull the fan tray until it stops
(approximately 1.5 inches out of the chassis).
 | Warning:
To avoid injury, keep tools and your fingers away from
the fans as you slide the fan tray out of the chassis. The fans might
still be spinning. |
- When the fans stop spinning, press the release latch located
on the left side of the fan tray.
- Grasp the handle and pull the fan tray completely out
of the chassis.

Installing a TX Matrix Plus Front Fan Tray
To install a front fan tray (see Figure 2):
- Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap
to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to one of the ESD points
on the chassis.
- Grasp the fan tray by its handle and insert it straight
into the chassis.
- Tighten the captive screws on each side of the fan tray
faceplate to secure it in the chassis, using a Phillips (+) screwdriver,
number 2.
