Removing the Craft Interface

The craft interface is located on the upper front of the TX Matrix Plus router. The craft interface weighs approximately 4.5 lb (1.3 kg). The craft interface is hot-insertable and hot-removable.

Note: Removing the upper front fan tray might make it easier to grasp the craft interface.

To remove the craft interface (see Figure 1):

1. Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.
2. Loosen the nuts and spacers at the four corners of the craft interface, using a 5/16 inch nut driver.
3. Grasp the left and right handles on the craft interface, and carefully pull it straight out of the chassis.

Caution: Do not leave the craft interface slot empty for more than a short time while the TX Matrix Plus router is operational. The craft interface must remain in the chassis for proper airflow.

Installing the Craft Interface

1. Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.
2. Grasping the craft interface by handles, press it into place.
3. Reinstall a spacer and nut onto each of the four corner threaded studs.
4. Tighten the nuts , using a 5/16 inch nut driver.

   Note: After you install the craft interface in an operating TX Matrix Plus router, allow several minutes for the LEDs on the craft interface to reflect the current state of the TX Matrix Plus router.
