Removing the Managment Ethernet Cable

To connect the Routing Engine to a network, connect an Ethernet cable with RJ-45/RJ-45 connectors to the ETHERNET port on the TXP-CIP. One cable is provided with the TX Matrix Plus router.

  1. Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.
  2. Press the tab on the connector and pull the connector straight out of the port. Figure 2 shows the connector.
  3. Disconnect the cable from the network device.

Installing the Management Ethernet Cable

To connect the Routing Engine to a network, connect an Ethernet cable with RJ-45/RJ-45 connectors to the ETHERNET port on the TXP-CB.

  1. Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.
  2. Plug one end of the replacement Ethernet cable into the appropriate ETHERNET port. Figure 1 shows the external device ports on the TXP-CB.
  3. Plug the other end of the cable into the network device.
