Replacing a TX Matrix Plus Left Front Air Filter

Removing a TX Matrix Plus Left Front Air Filter

The front left air filters are located to the left edge of the TXP-F2S SIBs, and weigh less than 1 lb (0.5 kg). To remove a front left air filter (see Figure 1):

  1. Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.
  2. Loosen the captive screws at the top, center, and bottom of the air filter cover, using a Phillips (+) screwdriver, number 2.
  3. Grasp the air filter cover by the captive screws and pull firmly to remove the cover from the chassis .
  4. Press the filter until it clears the hooks at the top and bottom of the air filter slot, then push it to the left to unseat it.
  5. Grasp the filter being removed and carefully pull it out from the chassis.

Installing a TX Matrix Plus Front Left Air Filter

To install a front left air filter (see Figure 2):

  1. Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.
  2. Carefully push the filter all the way into the air filter slot.
  3. Holding the filter all the way in, push it to the left side of the slot until it is held into place behind the hooks.
  4. Replace the air filter cover.
  5. Firmly tighten the captive screws at the top, center, and bottom of the filter cover to secure it to the chassis, using a Phillips (+) screwdriver, number 2.
