Chassis Lifting Guidelines
The weight of a fully configured
chassis is about 118 lb (54 kg). Observe the following guidelines
for lifting and moving the services gateway:
- Before moving the services gateway, read the guidelines
in SRX3600 Services Gateway Chassis Grounding Point, Power Requirements for DC-Powered SRX3600 Services Gateways, and Power Requirements for AC-Powered SRX3600 Services Gateways, to verify that the intended site meets the specified
power, environmental, and clearance requirements.
- Do not attempt to lift a fully configured services gateway
by yourself. Using a mechanical lift to maneuver the services gateway
into a rack is recommended. If a lift cannot be used, a minimum of
two people must lift the services gateway, and you must remove components
from the chassis before lifting.
- Before lifting or moving the services gateway, disconnect
all external cables.
- As when lifting any heavy object, lift most of the weight
with your legs rather than your back. Keep your knees bent and your
back relatively straight and avoid twisting your body as you lift.
Balance the load evenly and be sure that your footing is solid.
- Do not attempt to lift the chassis by the handles on the
power supplies or on the common form-factor modules (CFMs). The handles
may break off causing the chassis to fall and inflict injury.
