Hardware Requirements for a T1600 Router in a Routing Matrix with a TX Matrix Plus Router

The routing matrix can be configured with one to four converted T1600 routers. Figure 1 and Figure 2 illustrate the front and rear of a T1600 router.

Before you integrate a T1600 router into a routing matrix, you must install the following hardware components:

  • Rear fan tray—An upgraded rear fan tray (part number 760-024613) is required to cool the LCC chassis. Part number 760-009870 is not supported for a T1600 router in a routing matrix.
  • Two LCC-CBs (CB-LCC-BB).
  • Two C1800 Routing Engines (RE-TXP-DUO-C1800-8G-BB).
  • Five TXP-T1600 SIBs (SIB-TXP-T1600).
  • If needed, two three-input 240-A power supplies or four-input 240-A power supplies. An upgraded three-input 240-A power supply (part number 740-026384) or a four-input 240-A power supply is required. The three-input 240-A power supply (part number 740-017906) is not supported for a T1600 router in a routing matrix.

The hardware upgrade kit includes two LCC-CBs and five TXP-T1600 SIBs. The Routing Engines must be ordered separately. The rear fan tray and power supplies, if needed, can also be ordered separately. For information about installing a new T1600 router, see the T1600 Core Router Hardware Guide PDF Document.
