Overview of Installing the T1600 Router

It is important to proceed through the installation process in the following order:

  1. Prepare your installation site.

    See the T1600 Site Preparation Requirements Checklist .

  2. Review the safety guidelines.

    See the General Safety Guidelines for Juniper Networks Hardware Equipment.

  3. Unpack the router and verify the parts received.

    See Overview of Unpacking the T1600 Router.

  4. Install the mounting hardware.

    See Installing the T1600 Mounting Hardware for a Four-Post Rack or Cabinet or Installing the T1600 Mounting Hardware for an Open-Frame Rack .

  5. Install the router in a rack or cabinet.

  6. Connect the router to ground.

  7. Connect the router to external devices.

  8. Provide power to the router.
