TX Matrix Plus Field-Replaceable Units (FRUs)
Field-replaceable units (FRUs) are TX Matrix Plus components that can be replaced at the customer site. Replacing most FRUs requires minimal TX Matrix Plus router downtime. The TX Matrix Plus router uses the following types of FRUs:
- Hot-removable and hot-insertable FRUs—You can remove and replace these components without powering down the TX Matrix Plus router or disrupting the routing functions.
- Hot-pluggable FRUs—You can remove and replace these components without powering down the TX Matrix Plus router, but the routing functions of the system are interrupted when the component is removed.
 | Note: Before you replace most host subsystem components, such as a control board or Routing Engine, you must take the host subsystem offline. However, you must power off the Routing Engine before replacing a CompactFlash card or solid-state disk in a Routing Engine. |
