Field-replaceable units (FRUs) are TX Matrix router components that can be replaced at the customer site. Replacing most FRUs requires minimal TX Matrix router downtime. The TX Matrix router uses the following types of FRUs:
Table 1 lists the FRUs for the TX Matrix router. If the TX Matrix router contains a redundant host subsystem, the TX Matrix router Control Board (TX-CB), and the Routing Engine are hot-removable and hot-insertable. Before you replace a TX-CB or a Routing Engine, you must take the host subsystem offline (see Taking a TX Matrix Host Subsystem Offline).
