Configuring General Network Settings (NSM Procedure)
Configuring general network settings in NSM enables you to view
the status of the system ports, specifies a host name for the Secure
Access device, and configures DNS name resolution, Windows Internet
Naming Service (WINS) server, and master browser settings for the
Secure Access device.
To configure general network settings:
- In the NSM navigation tree, select Device Manager > Devices. Click the Device Tree tab, and then double-click the Secure Access device for which you
want to configure general network settings.
- Click the Configuration tab,
and select System > Network Settings > Overview tab. The corresponding workspace appears.
- Add or modify settings as specified inTable 1.
- Click one:
- OK—Saves the changes.
- Cancel—Cancels the modification.

New DNS Domain(s)
|
Allows you to specify the default DNS domain name for
the individual Secure Access device appliance.

Enter a comma delimited list of DNS domains; The Secure
Access device searches for them in the order that they are listed.

WINS
|
Allows you to specify the name or IP address of a local
or remote Windows Internet Naming Service (WINS) server that you use
to associate workstation names and locations with IP addresses (if
applicable).

Enter the name or IP address of a local or remote WINS.

workstation names and locations with IP addresses (if applicable).
