General

The general parameters to be set up for applying BGP.

- Expand the Protocol tree.
- Select BGP and select General tab.
- Specify the general parameters like comment, description,
local address, hold time, etc.

Path Selection
|
Enables you to specify the path selection criteria.
|
- Expand the Protocol tree.
- Select BGP and select Path Selection tab.
- Set up the path selection parameters and med plus
IGP.
|
Traceoptions
|
Defines trace options for IGMP snooping.
|
- Expand the Protocol tree.
- Select BGP and select Traceoptions tab.
- Set up the file and flag parameters.
|
Metric Out
|
Enables you to specify the metric value to add to the
routes transmitted to the neighbor.
|
- Expand the Protocol tree.
- Select BGP and select Metric Out tab.
- Set up the metric value and minimum IGP.
|
Multihop
|
If an EBGP peer is more than one hop away from the local
router, you must specify the next hop to the peer so that the two
systems can establish a BGP session. This type of session is called
a multihop BGP session.

- Expand the Protocol tree.
- Select BGP and select Multihop tab.
- Set up the comment, Ttl and specify whether the
next hop has to be changed.

Advertise
|
Enables you to specify whether BGP should advertise the
best route even if the routing table did not select it to be an active
route.
|
- Expand the Protocol tree.
- Select BGP and select Advertise tab.
- Specify whether Advertise has to be inactivated
and set up the Advertise Peer As.

Import
|
Enables you to apply one or more routing policies to
routes being imported into the JUNOS routing table from BGP .
|
- Expand the Protocol tree.
- Select BGP and select Import tab.
- Specify the export policies configured on the peer.
|
Family
|
Enables you to configure protocol family information
for the logical interface.
|
- Expand the Protocol tree.
- Select BGP and select Family tab.
- Specify the Family and Inet parameters.
- Expand the Inet tree and set up the parameters.

Authentication Settings
|
Enables you to specify the authentication settings for
BGP.
|
- Expand the Protocol tree.
- Select BGP and select Authentication
Settings tab.
- Specify the authentication key, algorithm and key
chain.

Export
|
Enables you to apply one or more routing policies to
routes being exported from the JUNOS routing table from BGP .
|
- Expand the Protocol tree.
- Select BGP and select Export tab.
- Specify the export policies configured on the peer.
|
Local As
|
Enables you to configure BGP with a different local autonomous
session (AS) number for each BGP session
|
- Expand the Protocol tree.
- Select BGP and select Local As tab.
- Enter the comment, as number, loop and specify
whether it is private.

Graceful Restart
|
Enables you to specify the graceful restart parameters.
|
- Expand the Protocol tree.
- Select BGP and select Graceful Restart tab.
- Specify the graceful restart parameters.

Bfd Liveness Detection
|
Enables you to configure bidirectional forwarding detection
(BFD) timers.
|
- Expand the Protocol tree.
- Select BGP and select Bfd Liveness
Detection tab.
- Specify the Bfd Liveness Detection parameters,
Detection Time and Transmit Interval.

Group
|
Enables you to configure BGP group.
|
- Expand the Protocol tree.
- Select BGP and select Group tab.
- Click the New button or select a group and click
Edit button.
- Enter all the group parameters.
