Configuring SNMP Agents and Communities (NSM Procedure)

To configure SNMP agents and communities:

  1. In the NSM navigation tree, select Device Manager > Devices.
  2. Click the Device Tree tab and then double-click the device for which you want to configure SNMP agents and communities.
  3. Click the Configuration tab. In the configuration tree, select Snmp > Community.
  4. Add or modify community and client information as specified in Table 1.
  5. Click one:
    • New—Creates a new community.
    • OK—Saves the changes.
    • Cancel—Cancels the modifications.

Specifies a name for the community.

Enter a name for the community.

View

Specifies the view associated with the community.

Enter the view name.

Authorization

Specifies the access granted to the community.

Select an access to be granted for the community. For example, type read-write.

SNMP > Community > Client List Name

Name

Specifies community access to a client at a particular IP address.

Enter the IP address.

Restrict

Restricts client access to the specified IP address.

Select this option to restrict client access for the specified IP address.
