Configuring the Device as a DHCP Client (NSM Procedure)
A device can act as a DHCP client, receiving its TCP/IP settings and the IP address for any physical interface in any security zone from an external DHCP server. The device can also act as a DHCP server, providing TCP/IP settings and IP addresses to clients in any zone.
To configure the device as a DHCP client:
- In the NSM navigation tree, select Device Manager > Devices.
- Click the Device Tree tab and then double-click the device for which you want to configure a DHCP client.
- Click the Configuration tab. In the configuration tree, select Interfaces.
- Select the interface on which you want to configure DHCP client information, and select Unit > Family > Inet > Dhcp.
- Click Enable next to Dhcp, and add or modify DHCP settings as specified in Table 1.
- Click one:
- OK—Saves the changes.
- Cancel—Cancels the modifications.
