Specifies the type of authentication used on this
interface. The no version removes authentication
from the interface. Supported only in RIP version 2. Authentication
is disabled by default.
Options
text—Sends a simple text password with each RIP
message; if the password is not possessed by neighbors, the message
is rejected
md5—Encrypts and compresses the RIP message with
MD5 message-digest algorithms
keyID—Number identifying the
MD5 key; neighbors must share the MD5 key to decrypt the message and
encrypt the response
