show system snapshot

Syntax (EX Series Switches)

show system snapshot<all-members|local|member member-id><media (external | internal)><slice (1 | 2 | alternate)>

Release Information

Command introduced in Junos OS Release 7.6.

Command introduced in Junos OS Release 10.0 for EX Series switches.

Description

Display information about the backup software:

  • On the routers, display information about the backup software, which is located in the /altroot, and /altconfig file systems or on the alternate media.
  • On the switches, display information about the backup of the root fie system /, /config directory, and /var directory, which are located either on an external USB flash drive or in internal flash memory.

Note: To back up software, use the request system snapshot command.

(EX4200 switch and EX4200, EX4500, and EX8200 Virtual Chassis only) (Optional) Display the snapshot in a Virtual Chassis:

  • all-members—Display the snapshot for all members of the Virtual Chassis.
  • local—Display the snapshot on the member of the Virtual Chassis that you are currently logged into.
  • member member-id—Display the snapshot for the specified member of the Virtual Chassis.
media (external | internal)

(EX Series switch only) (Optional) Display the destination media location for the snapshot. The external option specifies the snapshot on an external mass storage device, such as a USB flash drive. The internal option specifies the snapshot on an internal memory source, such as internal flash memory. If no additional options are specified, the command displays the snapshot stored in both slices.

slice (1 | 2 | alternate)

(EX Series switch only) Display the snapshot in a specific partition:

  • 1—Display the snapshot in partition 1.
  • 2—Display the snapshot in partition 2.
  • alternate—Display the snapshot in the alternate partition, which is the partition that did not boot the switch at the last bootup.
