Syntax

file delete filename<purge>

Release Information

Command introduced before Junos OS Release 7.4.

Command introduced in Junos OS Release 9.0 for EX Series switches.

Command introduced in Junos OS Release 11.1 for the QFX Series.

Description

Delete a file on the local router or switch.

Options

filename
—

Name of the file to delete. For a routing matrix, include chassis information in the filename if the file to be deleted is not local to the Routing Engine from which the command is issued.

purge
—

(Optional) Overwrite regular files before deleting them.
