Inspection of GTP Traffic Overview

GPRS Tunneling Protocol (or GTP) is an IP-based protocol used within Global System for Mobile communication (GSM) and Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) networks.

To inspect the payload of an encapsulated traffic, the IDP process engine must decapsulate it. IDP Series appliances support decapsulation for UDP GTPv0 and GTPv1. You can configure decapsulation for one or two layers.
