Title: Invicta WMCam Server Remote Denial Of Service Vulnerability

Severity: HIGH

Description:

wMCam server is a web-camera server implemented to run on the Microsoft Windows platform and is commercially available.

It has been reported that wMCam is prone to a remote denial of service vulnerability. This issue is due to a failure of the application to handle malformed requests.

The problem presents itself when a copious number of connections are made to the server that do not contain proper server requests. The affected server will refuse to close current connection or accept new ones, effectively denying service to legitimate users.

This issue is reported to affect version 2.1.348, however it is quite likely that earlier version of the software are affected also.

Affected Products:

  • iNvicta wMCam Server 2.1.348
