Title: GNU Mailman Admin Page Multiple Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerabilities

Severity: HIGH

Description:

Multiple cross-site scripting vulnerabilities were reported to exist in the administrative pages for GNU Mailman.

The source of these vulnerabilities is insufficient sanitization of input supplied via URI parameters, which is then included in dynamically generated web pages. These issues would likely be exploitable by enticing an administrative user to follow a malicious link with hostile HTML and script code embedded in it. If the link is visited by the victim user, the attacker-supplied code may be rendered in their browser in the security context of the vulnerable site.

Exploitation would likely result in theft of administrative cookie-based authentication credentials. Other attacks would also be possible since the attacker may influence how the site will be rendered to the victim user.
