Title: ThWboard Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

Description:

ThWboard is a bulletin board software written in PHP and MySQL.

A cross-site scripting vulnerability has been reported in the software.

The problem is reported to exist due to improper handling of user-supplied data. HTML and script code will be rendered in a user's browser, therefore making it possible for an attacker to a construct a malicious link containing HTML or script code that may be rendered in a user's browser upon visiting that link. This attack would occur in the security context of the site.

Successful exploitation of this attack may allow an attacker to steal cookie-based authentication information that could be used to launch further attacks.

ThWboard versions 2.8 and 2.81 may be prone to this issue, however other versions may be affected as well.
