Title: Speak Freely Show Your Face Malformed Gif Denial Of Service Vulnerability
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
Speak Freely is a freely available Internet voice communication application. It is available for the Unix, Linux, and Microsoft Windows platforms.
Speak Freely clients may crash when processing malformed GIF images. This vulnerability is exposed via the "Show Your Face" feature, which allows clients to send images to other clients. In particular, a GIF with "Image width" and "Image height" header fields that are too large or equal to zero will trigger this issue.
When such a malformed "Show Your Face" GIF is received and processed by a client, the client will crash.
Though unconfirmed, this could permit an attacker to corrupt memory with specific values, potentially leading to arbitrary code execution.
This issue is reported to affect Speak Freely on Windows platforms only.
