Description:
Phorum is a PHP based web forums package.
Phorum is prone to directory traversal attacks. The issue exists in the 'download.php' script, which allows users to download files. Exploitation of this vulnerability could result in disclosure of sensitive files which are readable by the web server. This problem is due to insufficient sanitization of directory traversal sequences from user-supplied input.
Files disclosed as a result of successful exploitation could potentially contain sensitive information which would be useful in mounting further attacks against the system hosting the web forum software.
