Title: Microsoft BizTalk Server 2002 HTTP Receiver Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
Microsoft BizTalk Server 2002 allows application integration, process automation, and is capable of receiving documents through HTTP, SMTP, and SOAP.
BizTalk Server 2002 is prone to a boundary condition error in the HTTP Receiver ISAPI extension (BizTalkHTTPReceive.dll) used to receive documents via the HTTP protocol.
If a malformed request is submitted to the HTTP Receiver, an internal buffer could be overrun, allowing arbitrary code to be executed on the server. Any code would be executed in the security context of the IIS Server hosting the ISAPI extension.
It is important to note that the HTTP Receiver is an optional component available only in BizTalk Server 2002 and is not installed by default.
Affected Products:
- Microsoft BizTalk Server 2002 Developer Edition
- Microsoft BizTalk Server 2002 Enterprise Edition
