Title: Ximian Evolution MIME image/* Content-Type Data Inclusion Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
Evolution is personal and workgroup information management software for Linux and Unix operating systems. Evolution is maintained by Ximian.
Evolution does not properly validate Content-ID data when MIME email messages include the image/* Content-Type. This is due to a flaw in the handle_image() function of the module mail/mail-format.c. handle_image() function does not properly escape HTML characters from the get_cid return string.
The get_cid return string contains the data from the Content-ID MIME header in the email message. Embedded HTML tags could result in heap corruption, policy bypass, or execution of bonobo components.
