Title: ELog Web Logbook Multiple Buffer Overflow Vulnerabilities
Severity: HIGH
Description:
ELog Web Logbook is a freely available, open source package designed to provide a logbook capable of being used through a web interface. It is available for Unix and Linux systems.
Problems with ELog could make it possible for remote users to execute arbitrary code.
Multiple problems exist in the Elog server packaged with the software. Insufficient bounds checking at multiple places in the elogd make it possible to cause buffer overruns which could potentially result in the execution of arbitrary code.
This vulnerability may be exploited by an attacker to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the elog daemon.
