Description:
Sun has reported a privilege escalation vulnerability for some versions of Solaris.
The vulnerability occurs when certain RPC requests are made. Specifically, the vulnerability exists for some RPC requests that involve AUTH_DES authentication.
This vulnerability can be exploited by local or remote attackers to obtain access to systems with elevated privileges. In some cases it is possible for attackers to obtain root privileges.
This vulnerability has been reported to affect Sun Solaris 2.5.1 to 7.
