Description:
Software Distributor (SD-UX), which ships with HP-UX 10.X and 11.0 (and available on other specific vendor platforms), is a set of installation utilities that makes setup of new software easier on HP systems. Some of the SD-UX commands are vulnerable to buffer overflow attacks. Attackers can overflow operations on buffers which have no bounds checking, executing arbitrary code as root (on setuid programs) and compromising root access locally.
