Title: PeaZip Remote '.Zip' Arbitrary Command Execution Vulnerability

Severity: HIGH

Description:

PeaZip is an archiving application implemented in RB.

PeaZip is prone to an arbitrary command-execution vulnerability because the application fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input. Specifically, the issue occurs when opening files contained in a '.zip' archive using an external application.

An attacker can exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary shell commands in the context of the webserver process. This may help attackers compromise the underlying system; other attacks are also possible.

PeaZip 2.6.1 is vulnerable; prior versions may also be affected.

Affected Products:

  • PeaZip PeaZip 2.6.1
