Title: Joomla! F!BB Component SQL Injection and HTML Injection Vulnerabilities
Severity: HIGH
Description:
F!BB is a component for the Joomla! content manager.
Since it fails to sufficiently sanitize user-supplied data, the component is prone to these vulnerabilities:
1. HTML-injection vulnerabilities affect the ICQ, MSN, and AIM profile fields.
An attacker may leverage these issues to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may allow the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials, control how the site is viewed, and launch other attacks.
2. An SQL-injection vulnerability affects the 'searchuser' parameter.
The attacker may exploit this issue to compromise the application, access or modify data, or exploit latent vulnerabilities in the underlying database.
F!BB 1.96 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
Affected Products:
- Joomla F!BB 1.5.96 RC
