Title: Plumtree Corporate Portal Cross Site Scripting Vulnerability

Description:
Plumtree Corporate Portal is a portal package designed to provide a comprehensive framework for a large corporate intranet. It includes support for personalization, and can be used to link together web and legacy applications and help distribute and organize information.
Plumtree provides a default error handling script, error.asp. It accepts an input parameter named Description, which is used to construct a meaningful error message displayed to the user. It is possible to include java script within this parameter, which can lead to a cross site scripting attack.
A malicious party may construct a link to this page which includes javascript code. This will then be executed in the context of the Plumtree Corporate Portal. It may be possible to construct a link which will generate misleading content. If cookies are used by the portal, it will be possible to access the cookie contents. It is possible this could lead to compromised accounts on the Portal system, although this has not been confirmed.
A user able to create or edit content provided by the Plumtree portal may also be able to exploit this vulnerability, through constructing malicious links which will be displayed by the portal.
