Title: Ipswitch IMail Domain Administration Privilege Escalation Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
Ipswitch IMail is an email server that serves clients their mail via a web interface. IMail supports most common email protocols such as SMTP, POP3, IMAP4, and LDAP etc. It runs on Microsoft Windows platforms.
IMail supports the hosting of multiple domains on a single server, and provides the ability to create administrator accounts for each domain. A web interface allows these administrator accounts to modify various values, including aliases and mailing lists.
Unfortunately, access to these administrative functions is permitted to any administrator account. As a result, a valid administrator account may be used to modify information associated with any hosted domain. As a result, a malicious administrator will be able to modify or delete information associated with any domain.
