Title: GIMP PSD Image Parsing Integer Overflow Vulnerability

Severity: HIGH

Description:

GIMP is a program for manipulating images.

GIMP is prone to an integer-overflow vulnerability. An attacker can exploit this issue by enticing an unsuspecting victim to open a malicious PSD file. Specifically, the issue affects the 'read_channel_data()' function in the 'plug-ins/file-psd/psd-load.c' file.

Successful exploits may allow the attacker to execute arbitrary code within the context of the affected application. Failed exploit attempts will result in a denial-of-service condition.

This issue affects GIMP 2.6.7; other versions may also be affected.

Affected Products:

  • GIMP GIMP 2.6.7
  • Pardus Linux 2009
