Title: Adobe Shockwave Player Multiple Remote Code Execution and Denial of Service Vulnerabilities

Severity: HIGH

Description:

Adobe Shockwave Player is a multimedia player available for multiple platforms.

Shockwave Player is prone to the following vulnerabilities:

1. A remote code-execution vulnerability occurs because of an invalid-index issue. (CVE-2009-3463)

2. Multiple remote code-execution vulnerabilities occur because of an invalid-pointer issue. (CVE-2009-3464, CVE-2009-3465)

3. A remote code-execution vulnerability occurs because of an invalid-string-length issue. (CVE-2009-3466)

4. A denial-of-service vulnerability occurs because of a boundary-condition error. (CVE-2009-3244)

Attackers can exploit these issues to execute arbitrary code in the context of the currently logged-in user and to cause denial-of-service conditions.

Versions prior to Shockwave Player 11.5.2.602 for Microsoft Windows and Apple Mac OS X are vulnerable.

Affected Products:

  • Adobe Shockwave Player 10
  • Adobe Shockwave Player 10.2.0.023
  • Adobe Shockwave Player 11.5.0.596
  • Adobe Shockwave Player 11.5.0.600
  • Adobe Shockwave Player 11.5.0.601
  • Adobe Shockwave Player 11.5.1.601
