Title: Drupal Workflow Module Multiple HTML Injection Vulnerabilities

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

Workflow is a module for the Drupal content manager. The module is for creating and assigning arbitrary workflows to Drupal node types.

The module is prone to multiple HTML-injection vulnerabilities because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input before using it in dynamically generated content for names of workflows and workflow states.

Attackers require 'administer workflow' permission to exploit these issues.

Attacker-supplied HTML and script code would run in the context of the affected browser, potentially allowing the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials or to control how the site is rendered to the user. Other attacks are also possible.

Versions prior to Workflow 5.x-2.4 and 6.x-1.2 are vulnerable.

Affected Products:

  • Drupal Workflow 5.x-1.1
  • Drupal Workflow 5.x-1.2
  • Drupal Workflow 5.x-2.3
  • Drupal Workflow 6.x-1.1
