Title: Mozilla Firefox Form History Information Disclosure Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

Mozilla Firefox is a web browser.

Firefox is prone to an information-disclosure vulnerability because attackers can harvest form history data from web content and the smart location bar. This issue occurs because webpages can use the 'CreateEvent' and 'InitKeyEvent' JavaScript methods to create synthetic events. Specifically, these events could be used to trigger an autocomplete popup and change the current selected entry in the popup menu.

Attackers can exploit this issue to obtain sensitive information that may aid in launching further attacks.

NOTE: This issue was previously covered in BID 36843 (Mozilla Firefox and SeaMonkey MFSA 2009-52 through -64 Multiple Vulnerabilities), but has been assigned its own record to better document it.
