Title: 3Com OfficeConnect ADSL Wireless 11g Firewall Router Authentication Multiple Remote Vulnerabilities

Severity: CRITICAL

Description:

3Com OfficeConnect ADSL Wireless 11g Firewall Router is a Wi-Fi networking router.

The device is prone to the following remote vulnerabilities:

1. A remote command-execution vulnerability affects the 'IP' parameter of the 'utility.cgi' script.

2. An authentication-bypass vulnerability occurs because the device allows unauthorized users to gain access to its configuration file. Specifically, the 'sysPassword' tag contains the administrator's password.

An attacker can exploit these issues to gain unauthorized administrative access to the affected device or execute arbitrary commands. Successful exploits will completely compromise the device.

Affected Products:

  • 3Com OfficeConnect ADSL Wireless 11g Firewall Router 3.0
