Title: Drupal RealName Module HTML Injection Vulnerability

Severity: HIGH

Description:

RealName is a PHP-based component for the Drupal content manager that takes fields from a user profile to create a 'real name' element to a user object.

The application is prone to an HTML-injection vulnerability because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input to the 'realname' content before displaying it in a user's browser.

Successful exploits will allow attacker-supplied HTML and script code to run in the context of the affected browser, potentially allowing the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials or to control how the site is rendered to the user. Other attacks are also possible.

Versions prior to RealName 6.x-1.3 are vulnerable.

Affected Products:

  • Drupal RealName 6.x-1.2
  • Drupal RealName 6.x-1.x
