Title: VMware Fusion Local Denial Of Service Vulnerability
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
VMware Fusion is virtualization software that allows users to run various guest operating systems on a host running Apple Mac OS X.
The application is prone to a denial-of-service vulnerability caused by an unspecified integer-overflow issue in the vmx86 kernel extension.
An attacker can exploit this issue to crash the affected system, resulting in denial-of-service conditions. Given the nature of this issue, the attacker may also be able to run arbitrary code, but this has not been confirmed.
This issue affects versions prior to Fusion 2.0.6 build 196839.
Affected Products:
- VMWare Fusion 2
- VMWare Fusion 2.0.2 build 147997
- VMWare Fusion 2.0.3
- VMWare Fusion 2.0.4
- VMWare Fusion 2.0.5
