Title: IBM Informix Dynamic Server JDBC Long Password Remote Denial Of Service Vulnerability

Severity: MODERATE

Description:

IBM Informix Dynamic Server is an application server that runs on various platforms.

IDS is prone to a remote denial-of-service vulnerability. Specifically, the issue presents itself when the application processes long passwords via JDBC connections. Passwords longer than 512 bytes may cause memory corruption with an assertion failure or instance crash.

Exploiting this issue allows remote attackers to trigger denial-of-service conditions.

The issue affects versions prior to IDS 10.00.xC11, 11.10.xC4, and 11.50.xC5.

Affected Products:

  • IBM Informix IDS 10.0
  • IBM Informix IDS 11.10
  • IBM Informix IDS 11.50
