Title: Lyris ListManager Multiple Remote Vulnerabilities

Severity: HIGH

Description:

Lyris ListManager is a mailing list application.

The application is prone to multiple security vulnerabilities:

1. An SQL-injection vulnerability affects the 'id' parameter of the 'utilities/administration/server/internationalization/charset/delete_do.tml' script.

2. Information-disclosure vulnerabilities occur because user information may be extracted from the database via the 'utilities/db/showsql' and 'utilities/db/showsqlrow.tml' scripts. Unauthenticated attackers can obtain sensitive information that may lead to further attacks.

3. An information-disclosure weakness is present because the application uses MD5 encoding to store user passwords.

4. Cross-site scripting vulnerabilities affect the following:

'scripts/message/message_dialog.tml': 'how_many_back', 'msgdlg_targeturl'
'read/attach_file.tml': 'page'
'read/attachment_too_large.tml': 'page'
'read/confirm_file_attach.tml': 'page'
'read/login/index.tml': 'emailaddr'
'read/login/sent_password.tml': 'emailaddr'
'read/search.tml': 'base_url', 'q'
'scripts/message/message.tml': 'wait', 'url', 'submessage'
'read/': 'how_many_back'
'subscribe/subscribe': 'list'
'search/': 'q'
'utilities/db/showsql': 'max'
'utilities/db/showsql': 'skip'
'utilities/db/showsql': 'sql'
'utilities/administration/server/db/addcolumn': 'page'
'members/show/delete_do.tml': 'id'

5. HTML-injection vulnerabilities affect the following:

'Add Member' dialog box: 'Name' field
'New List' dialog box: 'List description' field
'utilities/administration/lists/index.tml': 'current_list'
'utilities/administration/lists/delete.tml': 'current_list'

Additional unspecified scripts and parameters may also be affected.

6. Information-disclosure issues affect the GUI error page, allowing the server root to be harvested via the 'currentdir' parameter and the SQL server version to be harvested via the 'version' parameter.

7. The GUI error page also enumerates valid usernames via the 'doemailpassword.tml' script. Attackers can determine whether usernames or email addresses exist, which may aid in launching further attacks.

Exploiting these issues could allow an attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials, compromise the application, obtain sensitive information, access or modify data, or exploit latent vulnerabilities in the underlying database.
