Title: Drupal Printer, e-mail and PDF versions Module Multiple HTML Injection Vulnerabilities

Severity: HIGH

Description:

The 'Printer, e-mail and PDF versions' module for Drupal allows users to forward a link to a specific node on a website.

The module is prone to multiple HTML-injection vulnerabilities because it fails to sufficiently sanitize user-supplied input. Issues affect the following fields:

1. The 'footer' field when displaying 'printer friendly views'. Attackers require 'administer print' permissions within the application to exploit this issue.

2. The 'Stylesheet URL' field as used to construct 'link' tags in 'printer friendly' versions of nodes.

3. The 'site name' and 'Thank You Message:' fields displayed for email confirmation. Attackers require 'site administration' permissions within the application to exploit the 'site name' issue.

4. The 'node title' field displayed as a 'breadcrumb' on printer friendly versions of nodes.

5. The 'font family' field displayed for PDF versions of nodes.

Attacker-supplied HTML and script code would run in the context of the affected browser, potentially allowing the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials or to control how the site is rendered to the user. Other attacks are also possible.

'Printer, e-mail and PDF versions' 5.x-4.7 and 6.x-1.7 are vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.

Affected Products:

  • Drupal Printer, e-mail and PDF versions 5.x-4.7
  • Drupal Printer, e-mail and PDF versions 6.x-1.7
