Title: Apple iPhone SMS Application Remote Code Execution Vulnerability

Severity: CRITICAL

Description:

The Apple iPhone SMS application is prone to a remote code-execution vulnerability that can be triggered when the SMS application tries to process crafted SMS text messages. By sending several hundred crafted messages, an attacker may exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code on the vulnerable device.

Failed attacks will result in denial-of-service conditions.

Very few details are available regarding this issue. We will update this BID as more information emerges.

Versions prior to iPhone OS 3.0.1 are vulnerable.
