Title: phion airlock Remote Command Execution and Denial Of Service Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
'phion airlock' is a web application firewall (WAF).
The application is prone to an input-validation vulnerability. Specifically, specially crafted image size parameters in a URI to the airlock Configuration Center may render the system unusable and lead to a crash. This vulnerability also allows an attacker to run arbitrary system commands via unspecified vectors.
Note that to exploit this issue an attacker requires access to the Configuration Center, which is usually restricted to a local network. Authentication is not required to exploit the issue.
The attacker may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary shell commands on an affected computer with the privileges of the webserver or crash the server, denying further service to legitimate users.
The issue affects phion airlock 4.1-10.41; prior versions may also be vulnerable.
Affected Products:
- phion airlock 4.1-10.41
