Title: Novell GroupWise Internet Agent Email Address Processing Buffer Overflow Vulnerability

Severity: CRITICAL

Description:

Novell GroupWise is collaboration software available for a number of platforms, including Linux and Microsoft Windows. GroupWise includes an Internet Agent process for mail transfer.

The Internet Agent is prone to a remote buffer-overflow vulnerability. Specifically, this issue stems from a boundary-condition error that occurs when handling email addresses via SMTP.

An attacker can exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code within the context of the affected application, possibly with root or SYSTEM-level privileges. Failed exploit attempts will result in a denial-of-service condition.
