Title: A-A-S Application Access Server Multiple Vulnerabilities
Severity: CRITICAL
Description:
A-A-S (Application Access Server) is an application for remote computer administration.
The application is prone to multiple vulnerabilities:
1. A vulnerability allows attackers to bypass security restrictions. Specifically, attackers can log in to the web interface using an undocumented admin username and password 'wildbat'. Attackers may exploit this vulnerability to gain unauthorized administrative access to the application. This may result in a complete compromise of the affected computer.
2. A local information-disclosure vulnerability presents itself because the application stores passwords and the port keywords as base64-encoded strings in the 'aas.ini' file. Attackers can exploit this issue to obtain sensitive data that will aid in further attacks.
3. The application is prone to a cross-site request-forgery vulnerability. Attackers can exploit this issue by tricking a victim into visiting a malicious webpage. The page will consist of specially crafted script code designed to perform some action on the attacker's behalf. Successful exploits can run privileged commands on affected computers, including executing arbitrary commands and stopping arbitrary services.
Attackers can exploit these issues to run privileged commands and gain unauthorized administrative access to the affected application and the underlying system.
These issues affect A-A-S 2.0.48; other versions may also be affected.
Affected Products:
- Klinzmann A-A-S Application Access Server 2.0.48
