Title: Microsoft PowerPoint Invalid Record Type Remote Code Execution Vulnerability

Severity: HIGH

Description:

Microsoft PowerPoint is prone to a remote code-execution vulnerability caused by an error that can occur when the application parses PowerPoint files. Specifically, memory can become corrupted when handling specially crafted '.ppt' files that contain an invalid record type. This issue occurs during the parsing of ChartBuild containers that are embedded within a BuildList record. An invalid object pointer to the ChartBuild object can trigger the issue.

A successful exploit can allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code in the context of the currently logged-in user.
