Title: LB5000 Cookie Input Validation Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
LB5000 is a Web Bulletin Board Service (BBS) software package written in Perl which runs on several web server platforms.
It may be possible for a remote attacker, under some circumstances, to put
files on a host running LB5000. This may be used to send a false cookie
to the host and gain BBS administrator privileges on LB5000. However,
custom attacker-supplied data in the form of an arbitrary script may also
be uploaded to the host. The attacker may potentially capitalize on this
issue to gain local access to the host.
On a host running Unix, it could be possible to gain a remote shell with nobody permissions. On a Windows host, a command prompt with system privileges could be achieved.
