Title: Woodstock 404 Error Page Cross Site Scripting Vulnerability
Severity: MODERATE
Description:
Woodstock is a component library for the GlassFish application framework.
Woodstock is prone to a cross-site scripting vulnerability because it fails to sufficiently sanitize user-supplied URI data when generating a 404 error page. Attackers can exploit this issue by submitting a UTF-7-encoded URI to the vulnerable application.
An attacker may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site and to steal cookie-based authentication credentials.
Woodstock 4.2 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
Affected Products:
- Sun Glassfish
- Sun Glassfish Enterprise Server 2.1
- Sun Woodstock 4.2
