Title: Compaq Insight Manager XE Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
Severity: CRITICAL
Description:
A vulnerability has been reported to exist in some versions of Compaq Insight Manager XE.
The SNMP and DMI functionality of Compaq Insight Manager XE are prone to a buffer overflow. This is due to improper bounds checking of externally supplied data. It may be possible for a remote attacker to exploit this issue to overwrite stack variables (including the return address of the affected function) in such a way as to cause arbitrary code to be executed on the host.
The attacker-supplied code will be executed with administrative privileges, potentially allowing a full compromise of the affected host.

- Compaq Insight Manager XE 1.0.0
