Title: Popcorn POP3 Response Remote Heap Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
Severity: HIGH
Description:
Popcorn is a mail client available for Microsoft Windows.
Popcorn is prone to a remote heap-based buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input. Specifically, this error occurs when handling excessive amounts of data in an '+OK' response received from a POP3 mail server.
An attacker may exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code in the context of the vulnerable application. Failed exploit attempts will likely result in a denial-of-service condition.
Popcorn 1.87 is vulnerable; other versions may also be affected.
Affected Products:
- Ultrafunk Popcorn 1.87
